WHAT'S YOUR PRICING GUIDE?

It's a question hard to answer, as the cake price is determined by so many factors such as size, shape, poritons, design complexity and material costs etc.

  • For wedding cakes, please refer to the wedding cake pageAs a guide, most couples invest around £700-850 for their three tiered wedding cake.

  • For celebration cakes, our previous designs often range between:

    •  £150 - £200 for a single tier.

    •  £250 - £350 for a two-tiered cake.

WHERE DO YOU WORK?

I work from my home in Primrose Hill, London. My business Lil Moon Bakery is registered with Camden council and was awarded the highest food and hygiene rating of 5 stars. I also hold an up to date Level 2 Food & Hygiene certificate and am covered by Public Liability Insurance.

WHAT IF I HAVE AN ALLERGY?

Please do get in touch if you have an allergy and I can provide the ingredient list for the flavour that you have chosen. It is your responsibility to inform your guests of the allergen in the cake.

Typically, we have cereals containing gluten, eggs and dairy in all of our cakes if not specially specified.

I also offer a small range of vegan or gluten-free cakes, do get in touch if you have a special dietary requests.

WHAT INGREDIENTS DO YOU USE?

Each cake is made fresh to order using only the best ingredients sourced from local suppliers where feasible. Main ingredients include:

  • Award winning free-range eggs from The Good Egg Fellas in Yorkshire

  • Organic milk delivered by Hampstead Premier Dairies, a much loved independent local milkman

  • High grade premium Japanese matcha powder from Marukuyu Koyamaen

  • Organic British ShiptonMill flour

  • High quality cultured French butter

  • Sustainably sourced finest Belgian Chocolate by Callebaut

  • Most fruit compote, caramels and pralines are handmade in-house

IS YOUR KITCHEN NUT-FREE?

No, it is not a nut-free kitchen (and my cakes are made with flour, eggs, milk, and butter).   Although it doesn't typically have nuts in the cake,  I do frequently use these ingredients in the kitchen and unfortunately this means that all products are not suitable for people with severe allergies.

DO YOU OFFER VEGAN/GLUTEN FREE CAKE?

All of our cakes are vegetarian and I do offer a small range of vegan or gluten-free cakes, please do get in touch early to discuss your dietary requirement.

HOW SHOULD I STORE THE CAKE?

It depends on what cakes you order. And we will always inform you at delivery.

  • For buttercream cake,  please keep it in the fridge and bring to room temperature one hour before serving.

  • For fondant cake, please do not store it in the fridge. The moisture in the fridge will make the fondant sweat and become sticky. Leaving the cake in a cool shaded place at room temperature will be sufficient.

DO YOUR CAKES HAVE A USE-BY DATE?

All the cakes are freshly made to order. We recommend consuming your cake within 1-2 days after receiving it.
